Two months already!!

Well 2 months have passed since Nico came into our lives and I am still amazed by him. He is just wonderful. I love seeing him grow and change everyday, I love smelling his breath, hearing his coos and seeing his face light up in smiles. He is my everything.

Nico is lucky to have so many people around who love him. Since he was born he has had non-stop visitors. He has met his great-aunts, various cousins, friends and more friends, aunts, cousins and the list goes on and on. What a lucky little man!!

today was awesome. n slept in after i got up so i had some time to start my day without him and that was awesome. yesterday n rolled from his back to his stomach and was busy turning his head too and today during tummytime he rolled from his stomach to his back. whoa i am beaming with pride! he is so strong and he has great head control. i wonder what tomorrow will bring????

What a cranky pants!

Nico was in a really foul mood today. He did a lot of crying that I could not attribute to the usual culprits. It was a rough one, he insisted on being held and rocked and soothed. He did not like taking his bath...a normal fun time for him. He did not like baby massage time...another normal winner. Ugh he was a real handful. Atleast he went down for a nap with me right beside him but hey Iwill take what I can get. When we woke up from our monster nap his daddy was home so I had help.
I know tomorrow will be a better day. I just hate to see him in such a foul mood.

Miles of Smiles

So Nico is really and truly smiling at me and it makes me squeal with joy. He is so cute doing it too, Baby Cool does half smiles to tease me, smiles with coos, full head back smiles, eyes squinting boob half in mouth smiles and special only have eyes for you Momma smiles (not to be confused with the previous type either).
Today he had many opportunities to smile. He enjoyed his tummy time on his lily pad that Jamie got for him-he cooed and smiled trying to push off of the mat. He laid on his floor gym mat and didn't complain but he refused to turn his head to look at any of the stimulating things. We read stories and he listened intently to one whole book (Chika Chika Boom Boom) before he got squirmy. He was in a great mood today and we enjoyed each other tremendously.
Oh, what joy. I am enjoying this getting to know Nico.
And the cherry on top.... he is sleeping in his cradle and has been for about 2 hours. He is getting used to sleeping there which means I get to sleep more soundly which makes me smile (although I doubt anyone would blog about me smiling :)

Oh, the wetness

Some say speed is everything and that my friends is very true. I am getting quite quick with the whole diaper change process ,but I am no pro yet. Nico knows this better than anyone and he has a way of catching me whenever I am off guard. The other night was no exception. Ok I was changing him on the bed in the middle of the night in a sleepy stupor it took me a second to realize that the warmth I felt on my pjs was courtesy of my boy. Well did that keep me on my toes, nah because a few short hours later (yes, I am talking the same night) he did it again and I sware he cracked a smile. My boy. So he gets me all the time. Sometimes it is about my slow speed and sometimes I get distracted with getting him all ready for the next diaper. Like today when I was changing him and making sure his bumm was clean and all set for the next diaper, I looked away and when I turned back there was the fountain. Oh, I love this boy. I guess I would have to to constantly get peed on and think that it is funny, cute or blog worthy. I am sure that we will get past this stage but I am sure I have some more sprinkles before then.

Wow, what a week!!

Well to say that last week flew by would be a bit of an understatement. It was ridiculous, we were so busy and the festivities seemed to go on and on. What did that mean for Nico, well let us just say that he got a bunch of love from a bunch of folks. Since I wasn't able to blog, I will list some of the big things from the holiday week.

*Nico celebrated his first Christmas w/ his Grammy & Grandpa, Auntie, Uncle and cousin. His Grammy got him some cool toys and clothes too. It seems like this little guy is not going to want for anything.
*He also went to his first restaurant...his food selection remained the same but the surroundings changed :) We met my sister and her family out for my birthday lunch. He was wonderful in the restaurant... he ate, slept and let all of the folks hold him. We had a great time.
*He slept in his cradle at night for the first time. We are proud of our little guy he made it through a 4 hr stretch unheld!!
*N slept through the ball drop... he perferred to do his partying at 3am when everyone left!!!
*His awesome Grammy went back home and we miss her already!!!!
