15 Months, 15 Months...did someone say 15 months?

Nico is growing, growing, growing and I am "lovin' every minute of it"!

Eating more foods. (ravioli last week)
Talking up a storm. (parrot, anyone?)
Walking/Running. (showing up where you least expect him)
Throwing fits. (forcefully saying no is not enough)
Figuring things out (there are many ways to get in/out of a toy car)
Sleeping through the night. (I kid, I kid)

And by the numbers, he is
23 pounds
and
33 inches.

We'll keep him.

Gratitude, overflowing with gratitude!

I am always thankful for my little boy. He is amazing and I am so blessed to have him call me Momma...even when he is wailing it from his crib. Some of the wonderful things that I am grateful for right now:

*his growing vocabulary, his sweet voice saying down, bubbles, me.... all sound heavenly
*his little feet that still fit in the palm of my hand
*his kisses that cover my face
*him reaching for me in the dark of the night
*him putting his toes in my face wanting me to kiss them
*watching him crawl up the stairs
*shaking to any music, any time
*watching him laugh and how it makes his eyes sparkle and his face light up
* the cute things he does that crack him up

Just everything. I love him to pieces!

Snowpocalypse or Snowmaggedon?

Either way N was all in for about 5 minutes. We left Daddy outside shoveling the white stuff. I think N has about 6 years or so before he has to go pull his weight!!

snow is coming, snow is coming

N thinks you may need to prepare to shelter in place. And there is no better place than the tv armoire!

Milestones

This post has been floating around in my mind for a few days and finding the right words is proving to be very difficult. There are so many ways that N has changed since I met him on 11-24-08. Some small things that may almost be overlooked if I blink and some major ones like walking and saying words (Mama, Dada, dog and down); however, one of the incredible ones is that he is pretty much weaned off of nursing. Wow. I can't believe that he has transitioned to the next phase so seamlessly. There were no grand gestures or battle of wills, what was simply is no more. (I told you he was an easy baby!) He still puts his head there and will suckle a bit for comfort but that dependence on me for nourishment is gone. I am sad to see this phase come to an end. I really believe that there are few things more intimate that the moments spent holding N in my arms and feeding him as only I can. The closeness that we shared. Learning each other. Those moments were some of the best moments we have spent together. I am going to miss those moments. My baby is growing and once again I am so thrilled that He choose me to love N.
