Disney on Ice

Nico joined his buddy Toby for Disney on Ice. The show was jam packed with Disney- I don't think one character was overlooked. His favorite was Nemo and Lion King. He also seemed to really enjoy the glow sticks that Myriam gave him. He had a fantastic time! We did not eat a thing while we were there, 12 dollar cotton candy, 5 dollar drinks...yikes! It is rather ridiculous. Nico convinced his Daddy to break out the cotton candy machine when we hot home. I call that a fantastic day!

Lil Engineer

Nico received this really cool racetrack and cars deal from his Auntie J for Christmas and he really loves it. This track glows in the dark and you get to make all of these configurations. Yes, it is a winner with Nico and his Daddy too. Tonight I went into his room and he was busy putting his tracks together....I was quite impressed!

Milestones

I could certainly yell this one from the mountaintops: Nico is sleeping through the night in his own bed. No more nightly trips to my bed. Yay! YAY! YAy! I have written this  before and it did not stick but I really feel like we have turned a corner and he is not going back.

He is turning into quite the funny man. He tells jokes and gets a kick out of making you laugh.

He is playing so well by himself. He has full on dialogue with his toys and he seems to enjoy his independent playtime.

He continues to get great reports from school. He is recognizing letter sounds and he often tells me things like, "that's L Mommy, l sound, l sound, l sound" (get what I mean?)

He spent time with the first non-family babysitter this week and he did great.

He is continuing to amaze me and he is growing like a little weed. Love him!

what he says is so funny:

*when we are cooking and he has to crack the egg he says, "I wanna hatch it, let me crack it" - hatch, crack either way works :)

*he gives the best compliments:
"You are the best Mommy in the whole world!"

*his morning cuddles really should be bottled up and handed out to cure any ailment

* he loves to dance and always aks me to dance with him

He is my happiness through and through!

Happy New Year!

Nico stayed up late to ring in the New Year with his parents. He liked watching the ball drop and was a bit reluctant to head to bed after the stroke of midnight. He's a bit young for resolutions but if I could give him a few suggestions that he can use: resolve to sleep in my bed the entire night, get up and moving in the morning (save the rose smelling for the pm), stop using "no" so liberally (it looses effectiveness) and continue showering your Momma with kisses in case those other resolutions don't pan out so well ;)

Happy Holidays

Nico has had a very busy holiday season! He has really enjoyed so many things including...

Seeing: The Nutcracker with his Auntie Tan, Uncle Reggie and Cousin Ryann. All of the holiday decorations, especially the sparkling lights.

Hearing: Christmas carols on the radio...he loves singing, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer".

Eating: Cookies and candies galore!

Playing with: His robot monkey, dinosaurs, glowing race car track and instruments.

Loving: his Daddy, he wakes up and asks for him, wants him to put him down at night and gets super excited when he is going on errands with us.

Good times!

Nico had a great weekend! His buddy Christian turned 3 and had a wonderful party to celebrate. They were a sight to watch and 100 % boy. It was great!
